Default note of Thami - Renjo La - Gokyo

Based on my experience in January 2007, here is a description about the route from Thami, crossing Renjo La to Gokyo, with map and photos; hope it's informative

Started from an advertisement near Ghat:

This is the only lodge in Lundgen (4350 m), however, It was closed when I was there. So, be prepare for "no-lodge-land"

My acclimatization is 2 nights at Namche Bazaar, then 2 nights at Thami Gompa (3900 m), 1 night at Lundgen.

While staying in Thami Gompa, you might explore the Thami Khola; bring enough food and water, there's no support / lodge westward of Thami Gompa.

From Thami Gompa to Lundgen, it took about 4 hours, no difficulty.

There is a lodge, opened, in Marulung (4210 m), in case of necessary, you might stay here.

One hour later, arrived Lundgen (4350 m), the only lodge is closed and only one villager was living there in winter, a quiet village.

A view of the trail to Renjo La, notice the big rock on the ridge:

    A scan of map:

The trail I trekked from Lungden to Renjo La was on the west side of the river, so, I think that the route marked on the map is symbolized.

Part 4: Renjo La to iced waterfall, steep then flat, about 1 hour.

The trail is full of creek

Near the iced waterfall, the terrain is full of creek, If you cannot find the trail, be calm. Keep going to the edge, before falling down, you would see the trail clearly.
