    Hi Bhudda,

Yeah, there were only the two of us. We only met 1 (small) group of Koreans on the whole trek at Phoksumdo. They actually had big problems because they didn't have porters but donkeys. Because the passes were still covered with deep snow it was impossible to cross them with donkeys so they had to turn back.

I have seen your set on Flickr btw. It was a big inspiration for us to do this trek! thnx.

Hi Escher: Am new to this forum, planning first trek in Nepal. Impressed with your photographs - makes the trekking look like more than a hard slog! You obviously have stacks of experience, and am enjoying reading all tips on the forum. Thanks.

Pics from recent Annapurna Sanctuary trek, KTM & Bhaktapur.

A subset of my faves from highlights

Taken with Nikon D80, most with Nikon 18-200mm, some with Nikon 35mm f/2lenses.

Note, my D80 & 18-200 were damaged about halfway thru the trek. The D80 was usable, but using the 18-200 was a struggle - it wouldn't focus at most focal lengths (manual and autofocus), so some of the shots are compromised as a result.

I enjoyed using the 35 f/2. I found it useful to have an unobtrusive lens that didn't intimidate people. This allowed for a more intimate approach. Many of the portraits were taken with this lens.
