Nepal sponsored charity trek 2017

This November a group of altruistic volunteers who wish to get involved with hands on project work with Nepal Earthquake Recovery Fund (NERF) will be joining us and working with locals to complete a water source project, followed by a unique cultural trekking tour of Sindhulpalchowk District with local guides. We are looking for some like minded individuals to join us!

We are a UK charity that have been operating in Nepal since April 2015. Are values are transparency, accountability, kindness, collaboration, interaction, and grass roots engagement. You can see a list of our past and current projects at our website www.nerfinternational.org

THE PROJECT

The project that we are working on during this years trek is a water source project for a remote village called Sothang. It is approx. 2100m into the Himalayan foothills in a region called Sindhulpalchowk situated several hours drive north of Kathmandu.

The village water source was closed up by the earthquake and since April 2015 they have been walking almost an hour to get water from a tiny and quite frankly pitiful pipe down a steep gorge. The walk is intense and they have no water for anything other than drinking (so cannot use for washing clothes, themselves etc.).

In March we explored and located a water source a couple of km's away and our intention is to run a pipe from the source to the village to a water storage tank where villagers can then access water whenever necessary.

TREK

After the working element of the trip, we will then be trekking up to 4000m to some absolutely stunning spots where we will camp and appreciate the scenery, before visiting and appreciating some local religious rituals.

We still have a few spots left for this years trek. More people means we get more done on the project and also more people to pass on our message.

We will be following up all enquiries via Skype call. All logistical information including dates, itinerary, cost etc. is here: http://www.nerfinternational.org/sponsored-trek/. It includes testimonials from our trekkers last year as well as details of dates etc.

Alternately, if you know of anyone who has interests in altruism abroad please pass on these details.
