Lightbulb Heading back to Nepal Oct 23 for a short trek -- Poon Hill & ABC

    Hi all,

Good to see TrekInfo back up and working. What happened to it for a week or so?

We decided to head back to Nepal during the Oct/Nov "inter-regnum" here in Whistler (time between hiking/sailing and skiing). No big rush and no big plans this visit. Just a plan to trek the Poon hill/Annapurna Base Camp "circuit" independently and at our own pace. Hoping we can be zenlike with the crowds. (If they get to us, we can revise trek plans on the fly.)

We arrive KTM Oct 23, and leave Nepal Nov 15th (getting home to Whistler just in time for skiing).

TrekInfo hasn't been so well attended lately -- too bad -- so not sure if any "regulars" are planning to be there (well, except for Harry, who has indicated he is going).

    Maybe we'll cross paths....

    Cheers!

I'm more than a little envious. Last trip was 2015 and it feels like aeons ago, and sadly probably won't be able to make it again for quite a long time. I'm very Nepal-sick at the moment which is a permanent afflicition to be fair.

Anyway, have you ever been up Poon Hill in the afternoon? Done the dawn/crowds thing several times but went up in the afternoon last time. More cloudy sure but total solitude which was bliss. Walked down the other side for an explore which was interesting. Made a point of staying half a day out of sync and staying in the little places was a great way to mill about in the middle hills in the Annapurna region keeping it relatively quiet. Have a nice time!

That's the plan. Hope it works....

We seem to get hit with urge about 12-15 months after the preceding trip. This "nepal-sick" ness is an expensive illness -- hmm, how much spent after 12 trips and now a 13th. Best not to think of it.

    How was the trek Landfall?
I am heading to Everest Region to cross Renjo La (hopefully) and Gokyo 6th lake. Spending a bit more time in the Gokyo - Cho Oyu area.
