Default Re: Nepal travelers most have guide and porter

Just to point out to any prospective trekkers who may want to employ this outfit: it isn't true that you 'must have a guide and porter' to trek in Nepal. Many hundreds or thousands of trekkers trek the popular tea house routes independently just fine and have done for many years.

It is true that a few people have gone missing, nearly all were trekking solo, but still it is a very rare event. It certainly isn't true to say "we have lost lots of foreigners", that is basically complete rubbish.

So worth thinking whether you would want to employ a trekking outfit who want to get your custom by suggesting to trek without a guide is a very risky proposition. I certainly wouldn't. It isn't true and I wouldn't trust a guide who told me so. YMMV.
