Encounters Nepal is a reliable trekking agency in Kathmandu. We first looked if he was a TAAN member and could give TIMS-card and that was OK. I had a trekking route chosen and Mr. Rishi had made a fair qoute for it. We didn't want to pay a commision to a travelagent in our homecountry who just books the same trip with a local agent. When we met Rishi at his office in Kathmandu we felt that we hade made a good choise, he is caring and friendly en proffesional. All agreements are fulfilled. The flight to Lukla, guide, porter, teahouse trekking, accomodation in Kathmandu was all good arranged. We had every day boiled safe drinking water and good meals. Because we were just the two of us we could adjust the trekking route according to the weather, health, conditions. Our route: Lulkla, Pakding, Namche Bazara (2 nights), Thame, Khumjung, Phortse, Pangboche, Dingboche, halfway to Chukung and back to Pangboche, Tengboche, Namche Bazar, Monjo, Thadokoshi, Lukla. This way we didn't take altitude to fast and we never had altitude problems. Because of the cold conditions and altitude at Dingboche we dicided not to stay overnight in Chukhung and to just walk for two hours in the valley and then to go down to Pangboche. We used this extra night to take our time between Namche Bazar and Lukla to enjoy this green valley. The views, the weather, the mountains and monasteries, the villages are impressieve. We will never forget this country and its people. Teahouses are simple accomodations, clean rooms and good home cooked food. In the evening everyone sits around the stove, guides, porters, hikers from all over the world. When we go back to Nepal we chose for www.EncountersNepal.com again.
