Re: Solo trekker looking for companions

Have a wonderful trek! I'll be heading that way myself March 1st for my 7th repeat of that route. Best walk in the world. Maybe see you on the path!

  5. Re: Requesting current information for the Khumbu (fuel shortages, political climate,

Do you mean my comments about the owner not caring about solo trekkers? If so it was the Khumbu Lodge. I don't stay there anymore anyway as I find Hotel Tibet better and the Khumbu was closed last...
  6. Re: Requesting current information for the Khumbu (fuel shortages, political climate,

Come with me in Feb Yakshaver? I want to do Jiri to KP but the fuel issue is making getting to Jiri too expensive at the moment..

Be great to have you as a trekking mate..

  7. Re: Requesting current information for the Khumbu (fuel shortages, political climate,

I'm normally up there in February and things are open. I've noticed that some of the bigger lodges are opening in March April in Namche now. I spoke to one of the owners and he said he's not...

    Re: Jiri to KP

I've found Jiri to Deorali okay but it is a long day especially if you are going slowly. I've arrived in the dark when I've walked with slower people. By the way there's a park fee to pay in...

Sticky: Re: Trekking Hints & Tips

I've never taken Diamox and the only two people I've trekked with who did - suffered side affects so quit it.

Saying that we always trek in from Jiri so have an extra week to acclimatize.

  14. Re: Requesting current information for the Khumbu (fuel shortages, political climate,

Actually I can help with one thing. I don't think it's worth worrying about reserving lodge space. I was there in April a couple of years ago and we had no problems getting a room.. A think April is...
  15. Re: Requesting current information for the Khumbu (fuel shortages, political climate,

I'm also interested in any news - I'm heading there in Feb or March (Hopefully Feb)

    Re: Jiri to KP

    Hi again,

    Re: Jiri to KP

No problems - Firstly I would say that the section of the trek from Jiri to say Kharikhola is pretty tough. The first few days can be long (depending how you do it) and the climbs and descents...
