  1. Re: Everest Base Camp(EBC) Three Passes Trek - Info needed

    Namaste,
you have to be reasonably fit and acclimatise fast. But it's doable.
Day 3 - Namche-Tengboche isn't very long. Add 1 hour and go to Pangboche. Also, you can consider to stay in Namche for...

Re: The view during the monsoon (photo's?)

    Namaste Michael!

snowshoes - ok, way to go. But this was end of October when you expect little snow (if at all).
Sorry, this tread is about view in monsoon time. I'm shuffling cards here :( ...

Re: Annapurna Circuit - Nar Phu July 2011

    2. We did Tilicho with tent in June 2009. Some places (just few meters) can be tricky in landslide section on Khangsar - Tilicho Base camp trail but if you have some experience and common sense then...

Re: The view during the monsoon (photo's?)

    Namaste Michael
I have snow in winter too. But - no step aside from trail, forget about Tilicho etc, quite exhausting walking. It was really different experience though, liked it very much.

Re: Trekking EBC on August, 2011

I think it isn't very difficult trek. No big up-and-down, except pass. From Thorung Base Camp it's aprox 900 m up to ThorungLa and 1600 m down to Ranipauwa (Muktinath) in one day, and it will be...

Re: The view during the monsoon (photo's?)

It's also possible to have splendid wheather in Khumbu and bad in AC (and vice versa) in Oct-Apr.

trail to Ngawal, 26 October but it's an exception...

Re: Trekking EBC on August, 2011

This is possible if all goes as planned. But you don't have a big reserve. You need to start very early in morning to go to Chamje in 1st day (no jams in/near Kathmandu; it's wise to arrange special...

Re: The view during the monsoon (photo's?)

Did circuit in June, and very liked it! :) Get a rain just half a day during all trek (Bagarchap-Chame) and some rain during few nights (ok, there was short strong rain in Tatopani in afternoon too)....

Re: Planning a chunk of the AC + Sidetrips

I stood on "TouristLa" in 14 June 2009 (went back to east end of lake), and went little bit into Kaisang valley from Thini side six days later. Probably you are right, I just know what heard from...

It's interesting. Two years ago locals in Thini said that army is there and it's not allowed to go to Kaisang (it's not on trail to pass).

Re: Deciding on a trek in Nepal?

Did AC in June 2009 - went there because of monsoon time. It was very nice trek. No crowds at all in this season, pleasant temperature on higher altitude, greenery, long daylight. Wrote more in...

    Re: AC in Oct-Nov

I'm not saying that Ngawal is better than Ghyaru. It was for me in 2009. I stayed in Ghyaru twice, in 2005 and 2009. View to Annapurna II from Ghyaru is extraordinary (again - for me) and better than...

    Re: AC in Oct-Nov

I liked Ngawal more than Ghyaru, not so abandoned and more vital village. There are few lodges (we stayed in new one) and no problem to get food. If you go from Ghyaru you can take a lunch in Ngawal;...

    Re: AC in Oct-Nov

Going up to Tilicho lake can be done without tent. And it's your choice, it isn't higher or more difficult than ThorungLa. Hours in your guide is ok, but there is new lodge aprox 1-1.5 hours after...

yes, definitely the higher route. About KangLa - we spent 2 nights in tent on aprox 4600m on the trail to KangLa from Ngawal side in June 2009 (and went to pass and back to Ngawal). Nobody worried,...

  20. Re: Annapurna Circuit: cliffs, mudslides and other dangers?

I'm with Petrus, Ghyaru is many times better than valley floor. Ngawal is good place for night too (yes, little bit lower than Gyaru, but nice village).
Make some side treks, if have time.

Re: Gorak Shep-Gokyo avoiding Cho La

We went Duglha-Pangboche-Phortse and further to Gokyo (but it's possible to go Ghorakshep-Dingboche/Pangboche in one day). It's not bad to go down after Ghorakshep to rest a bit, and walk...
