Dear Lakpa SHERPA, thank you for your reply we are 4 ladies and we will carry light back packs (around 11 12 Kg.) I have always carried my pack I have allready been on the Anapurna circut 20 years ago,I did it by miself at kailash and in Lang Tang last year but this time we wolud like to walk light! It all dipends on how many kgs a porter can carry...I would think that we need only 2 porters...what do you think tashi delek Angela

You should hire porters as it helps the economy. With tourism down, they need all the help they can get. They easily carry 20 kgs. so 2 should be enough. The locals have them carrying twice that much as you will see. You ought to take an acclimatization hike up to Gyoko and maybe to Thame. You need to spend 10 days getting to EBC if that is where you are going, but it is only 40 miles so you have plenty of time to detour up other valleys.
