Hi
I am planning a trek to EBC in October/November and would like some recommendations for lodges/hotels in KMD and on the route from Jiri. Remember - No Adverts!

In KTD you can start with Cozy Corner for about 2 dollars a night, up to 200 a night at Dwarika. What do you mean?
On trek, well, Himalaya lodge at Lukla is still the one for me, as is Namasge view in Namche (please say hello to Mr Palden Lama for me if you go there. The number and variety of lodges in most places are legion. Where do I begin?

Trekking Permits
Some confusion in Lonely Planet Guide about permits. In one section it says trekking permits are not required for Everest region but later it says that permits have to be produced when entering the National Park and paying the entry fee. Can someone who has recently done the EBC trek from Jiri confirm whether permit is required.
Ta very much

Hi, Robert:

Trekking permit is totally different from Entrance fee. Trekking permit is not required now. But you have to pay for the entrance fee. It is Rs1000 for EBC trek. You can pay in advance in the National Park office near Thamel or just pay at the entrance of the National park. Have a nice trip!
