Hi, in Feb I'll be starting the Annapurna Circuit with a mate. We'll be carrying our own gear. I'll be taking a digital SLR with me along with another lense. I was wondering if anyone new of any good camera bags or of any ideas of how to carry the camera and have easy access of it on the trek aswell has having to carry a rucksack on the shoulders? Any advice of your own experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

Escher and the Silvertops shared some good ideas at http://trekinfo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7671. I didn't buy the Lowepro top loader case that Escher uses, but I did configure a fanny pack w/ stowable straps that I could clip to the front of my pack straps that worked nicely. The fanny pack configuration is heavier than the Lowepro bag, but it also worked as a fanny pack when I wasn't wearing my backpack.

You can buy Lowe bags in KTM - Snapper Photo (they have shops in Thamel and on New Road) sells quite a range of bags for attractive prices. If not carrying the big pack (i.e. if you have a porter), my choice is Rover Plus AW bagpack - a comfortable photo department plus enough space to carry daystuff for the trek. Costs 9000nrp (about 100eur) if I remember correctly.
