I have a long vacation since 22th April 2002.
Terking in Napal is my dream for years.
I have a plan to trek in Annapurna region.
And that son of bitch Maoists call a bandh (general strike) just at the time I arrive. I am worry about my safety in that time. The news said they lay bombs in Kathmandu and gun fight in other areas.
I have no choose but cancel that trip.
God Damn the Napali Maoist.
All Napali Maoist GO TO HELL!!!

Thank you for your advice. Spencer and Daniel.
Yes, I am little bit emotional yesterday when I got the information about the bandh.
I will go to Napal next time. This time, I have a more attractive place to go - Tibet. See the Everest from the other side, they called it Qomolangma.
Go to Tibet will cost me alomst double. And more latitude challenge. The Maoist help me make up my mind to go to the country where Mr. Mao once ruled.

Hi Red October
As Daniel and Spencer say Maoist strike is not a street fighting,it is just a total shut down of shops,no vehicles on the road which in fact is a boon to
the citizen of Kathmandu. You can walk around on streets ,go sight seeing around and nobody will bother you.Your favourite bars in Thamel may shut down its front door but will still be open.I am picking up Spencer at the airport on my bike or ambulance or police van but I will bring him to my house where he wishes to stay as paying guest. You can do the same with me or someone you know.

Dear dear!
Such a reaction. I suppose it would be too much much to expect travellers to try to understand the situation and show as others have replied, some patience.
Perhaps going to Nepal and talking to the loals might have given you a new perspective. Gee you might have learned something about a lovely country that is going through a tough time.
You might even come to the conclusion there might be serious reasons why various Nepalese are being killed. Oh yes some tourists even get inconvenienced once in a while.
To be honest it is probably better that with that attitude you dont go to a place like Nepal.
Perhaps I am entirely wrong. With a calling card like Red October you were making a joke.
