Around Christmas people usually start planning their vacation for next year. Please also consider the trek to the amazing land of Dolpo mentioned above ;-)

We are still looking for a few trekking partners.

Happy holidays,
Joost

Dolpo sounds very interesting, but I can only come to Nepal two weeks after you leave. Please tell us about your trip later.

Good luck!

Sounds very interesting!

Does your trek include Shey Gompa as well? I read about the area in 'the snowleopard' of Mathiessen. This novel really raised my intrest in the area.

Francois,

Great novel " the snow leopard" , isn't it? Our walk into dolpo will be exactly the same as Mathiessen and Schaller did. Inside Dolpo our route is different; we walk in 3 days to the remote communities at Dho Tarap. From there over two high passes to Phoksumdo lake and from there down to Dunai and to the airstrip at Juphal.

So will will not visit Shey Gompa. In our route we just stay within the boundaries of "Lower Dolpo" so we avoid the high $700 permit fee for "upper Dolpo"

If you are interested i will mail you itinerary and prices.

Regards,
Joost
