I am leaving on Wed for a brief 16 day trip to Nepal (work sucks). Since time is short, I am looking on advice on the best way to join a group for 10 trek in Annapurna. I am going solo (26, m) but would definately like to be with people. Does this mean joining an organised group or just meet people on the trails? Book in Kathmandu or can it be done in Pokhara? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

You will easely find other trekking people either in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Try the board in kathmandu guest house. I even startet sometimes a trek and met new friends on the way.

It is easy to find trekking companions on the popular treks. Interestingly enough, on trek people tend to be more friendly and communicative than at home, so you will most probably find like -minded friends to share the trek with. As Andrees says, the notice boards at the major guesthouses, esp Kathmandu Guest House, as well as in Pokhara are good places to start with. Your first lodge on trek will probably be a very good spot, especially if you go to one of the popular ones, where most trekkers will stay,

Thanks Daniel,
Would you advise arranging things in Kat or Pokhara? What about Porters/guides? Is this done on an individual basis, or with groups?
Thanks again.
