We are pleased to highly recommend Shalik Ram Bhatta. Shalik (“SAUL-ik”) was our porter/guide during our 30-day Langtang/Gosainkund/Helambu trek in the Fall, 2006. Since then, he has received his guiding license (#4469). Shalik is experienced on all of the major trekking routes, and will be accompanying us on future treks. Shalik is a wonderful, highly-intelligent, good-natured, mature young man (mid-20’s). While he offers suggestions on routes, pacing and accommodations, he also cheerfully accepts that it is the client(s) who should make the final decisions. When not trekking, Shalik divides his time between being a university student in Kathmandu and his home area near Gorkha. His spoken English (self-taught) is very good.
