During my last visit to Nepal in April 2007, primarily to do the Annapurna Base Camp trek, I visited the Sunrise Orphanage in Kathmandu. I had a kitbag full of nearly new clothes that my eldest daughter and her friends had donated, which were gratefully received by the staff and children.
I was hugely impressed by the dedication and love of the staff towards the children, and the children themselves who were all bright and happy despite coming to the Orphanage from appalling circumstances.
Some of you may want to know more of the Sunrise Orphanage, so I would suggest you log onto You Tube and type in the search words "Sunrise" and "Orphanage". Also visit there website at :-www.scai.org.au

Namaste!

I am Happy to read you visited one of the many projects in Nepal.
Answering the question who or what to support is not always easy as there are also some projects with "a doubtfull" reputation.
So to all people who are planning to go and do some donations i'd kindly request to do some orientation on projects.

I am married with a nepali lady, have been there 4 times and... my wife has a blind brother, we know how important GOOD projects are!!

Good luck !

Frank.
