Dudhpokhari( Milky Lake) 3rd Grand Annual Festival

New Alternative trekking route for Annapurna Region.

Dudhpokhari( Milky Lake) situated on the border of Lamgung, Manang and Kaski districts of Nepal is at an altitude of around (5300m) above the sea level. Legend has it that some three thousand years ago the Tamu community now Gurung community of Nepal entered this area from Tibet via Namun Bhanjang Pass and made their settlement here. Therefore this place is also known as Tamuwan. The Tamu community had their own King in the olden days; you can see remains of their Palace till now.

During the Janai Purnima (Sacred Thread Ceremony) thousands of pilgrimage and visitors through this place for holy worship. Hindus worship this place as a site for Holy Pilgrimage and a lot of devotees take this place as the gateway to heaven. There is a strong belief that if you take a bath in this Dudhpokhari (Milky Lake) three times then all your sins committed in this lifetime get purified. Therefore this place is rich in Culture, Nature, and has a good geographical importance and other attractions.

Itineries Namun La- pass (5560m)
(New Alternative way for Annapurna Region)

Day 1:- Drive to Kathamandu, Besishar to Kapoor gaon. Walk to Ghale gaon(2016m.)
Day 2:- Ghlegaon to Rabrachu(3100m.) 6 hrs. Hard walk.Over night at tented camp.
Day 3:- Rabrachu to Thorju. (4500m.) 6 to 7hrs. Hard walk. Over Night at tented camp.
Day 4:- viewing the Mt. Manaslu next to you.Many scenes opening ceremony of Dudha pokhari o/n Thorju (4500m.)
Day 5:- 3 hrs.early in the morning trek to dudha pokhari (5300m.) viewing the dudha pokhari Lake and pilgrims, see the snow caped mountain just next to the Thorju & competition of many athleted, gurung culture dances and ship fight also. Over night stay over night thorju at tented camp.
Day 6:- 4 hrs. Adventure walk for Namun la pass (5560m.) 1.5 hrs.Walk for Dafe kharka (4000m.) viewing the many scenes. Over night stay overnight at Tented camp.
Day 7:- four hour jungle adventure walk for Danaque(2300m.) two hrs walk for Dharapani.Stay over night at tented camp.
Day 8:- 6 hrs.Walking on the bank of the Marsyandi River. Syange viewing the Amazing water falls on the way. Stay overnight at tented camp at Ghermu.
Day 9:- 6hrs. walk to Khudi. Stay over night tented camp at Khudi.
Day 10:- Drive back to Kathamandu or PoKhara or Chitawan.

Participants in the Festival:

1) 10 representatives from 5 different TV Channels and 5 other renowned journalists.
2) 10 ambassadors or representatives of the embassies of different countries.
3) 5 photographers & camera man for documentary.
4) 30 representatives from different tourism related industries.
5) Participation of more than 10 selected trekking agencies.
6) Participation of the chiefs of ICIMOD, KEEP.
7) Representatives from different districts, participation of more than thousand pilgrimage and visitors.

3) Competition of Local cultural programs from different districts (Duet song competition).
4) Shut Put Competition (Chhelo Competition)
5) Archery Competition.
6) Sheep Fight Competition.
7) Tug of War.
Cost includes: Transportation Round Trip by Tourist Bus, Three meals a day, Accommodation on tented camp. All festival Programs. Guide, porters, Kitchen gears, Mats, Tents, all permits and insurance for all staffs.

Cost Excludes: Expenses of personal nature, bar bills, Sleeping bags, Raincoat, insurance.

Note: If needed, we can help to issue travel insurance, arrange sleeping bags and Raincoat etc.
