Well it has been a hard 24 hours, over 200 hundred people killed and beginnig to reach towards trekking areas in the Solu Khumbu. This war remains a power issue between the this,, and the that.. in Nepal and does not at present endanger tourists to any trekking region. The comments of a couple of days back remain.

Nick.

Daniel see you soon I have a well shaved yak at 5000 mtrs incubating your San Miguel,Spoke to Ghandruk(we now have a telephone,, ughh.. not my decision but it helps sometimes) today,, all is well and life continues without all the fuss of newspapers over cautious government web sites ect.

I was hesitate about the war condition inside Nepal. I and my friends was planning to go Nepal on 12/30 - 1/15 for trekking and Chiwon park. Could U guys post some information about KTM and pokhara condition after u arriving there?
It is very sad to hear about the war this time when I was trying to order the planet tickets.
Thanks for your information.

Hi CC

There has been no change as far as tourists are concerned. The Government has called a state of emergency as from yesterday although nothing here in Kathmandu or Pokhara has changed because of this.I could ramble using words like uncertain volatile etc.Best I keep updating on a daily basis if needed. At present all is well for trekkers.

Hope this helps Nick.

Hi Sandra and others planning to visit Nepal
I am an adventure travel/tour operator based in Kathmandu, specialising in small family groups, students and individual tourists catering and being a local I think I can project a better picture than these jokers(no pun intended).Since the declaration of emergency and deployment/employment of Army things are getting very normal besides couple of skirmish between maoist and army in remote areas
where tourist are rare and I personnaly am of the opinion that this crisis will be over by next week.Maoist are bunch of terrorist and cannot hang on longer, they have to come to the negotiating table sooner or later.Nobody in their right sense support them except some very underpriviledged section and this section have realised that they cannot fight an enemy which is not their enemy in the first place. So take it easy and come to visit this Shangrila which is little disturbed right now because of handful of high handed stupidest politicians like Prachanda and Baburam Bhattarai whose only aim is to be in the power play no matter what happens to the country.
