Hello!

IŽm planning to return to Nepal in november. Unfortunately Austrian Air will not continue their flights to KTM. Does anybody know if there is any other company flying Europe-KTM????????

Gulf Air & Qatar Airways both fly to KTM from their bases in the Middle East, with connections from many European airports.

Not sure if you are looking for a direct flight but you can go thru Delhi without a problem. Overnight to Delhi and then pick up a flight to KTM the same day.

Indeed Gulf Air and Qatar Airways are both connecting to KTM from Europe. If you are in London, then as critter says, there are any number of relatively cheap flightst to Dehli or any other Indian destination with various Airlines including BA. From India there are many connections to KTM.

I would say that from continental Europe Gulf and Qatar would be the best.
There was also Transavia or some such, from Scandinavia I think, but I am not sure.

Thanks all of you for answering.
I want to avoid a long night in Dehli, so IŽll check out Qatar and Gulf.
Unfortunately Transavia doesnŽt fly anymore.

I don't know if it is still the case but Gulf have a longer stopover than Qatar. I have had 1.5 -4 hours stopover with Qatar and 10+ with Gulf. I found the flights, planes and service better with Qatar. They are a little more expensive but for me are worth it for the extra comfort and convenience.

Qatar Airways do some good flights including day flights with just 1 hour changeovers in Doha. Gulf Airways have only overnight ones with 4 to 5 hour changeovers in Abu Dhabi airport (which is a dump).

Hello again!!
Thanks for all your help. Have checked out Qatar airways, seems a good choice. I have another question: Because of workconditions I would like to wait until june before booking my ticket. Is that going to be to late??? (want to fly mid november)

I can't imagine you having a problem four - five months out. Maybe someone else will have a definite for you. Good Luck!!!

I've booked with Qatar a couple of times within 8 weeks of flying. I didn't have a problem getting a seat. No guarantees but I expect that would be the same for you. In fact I will probably be doing the same myself later this year.

Hi

We had a lot of problems with Gulf when we flew with them last year. Flight out to KTM from LHR okay but the return was a mess. Our original times were changed and we came back via Muscat with a 7 hour wait at the airport. Our hotel in KTM tried to reconfirm our return flights but they were told we had to phone to reconfirm personally. When I did that I was told I had to go to the office to get new tickets. We went to the office which is unbelievably busy. The door was locked and we were told to go away and come back later. At our second attempt we were let in and managed to queue jump - the security guard gave out low numbered tickets to foreigners and high numbered tickets to Nepalis!! We eventually got our tickets changed after about 3 hours in total.

Of course we didn't wait 7 hours at Muscat. Our flight came into KTM over two hours late and we only waited about 4 hours at Muscat. I was going to write a long letter of complaint to Gulf Air but in the middle of the night at Muscat as I went through the boarding gate I heard the magic phrase "We've upgraded you to Business Class" A bed for the 9 hour flight to London!

I think I will try Qatar next time or go via Bangkok with Thai.
