I have booked up to do the Ultimate Bungy Jump and Ultimate Swing on Sat. 31st March, before I go on the Annapurna Sanctuary trek. It is supposed to be the highest (160 metres) and most spectacular in the World and I was wondering if anyone has done either or both, and any advice or experience they could share with us.

I've walked across the bridge that you'll be jumping off, it looks rather scary!

And whilst it might be the 'highest' jump (in terms of absolute altitude) it isn't the 'biggest', according to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bungee_jumping) there are jumps in South Africa and Switzerland that are in excess of 200m

And another thing - check whether bungee jumping is covered on your insurance. In many cases it's only on the higher risk activity policies.

That said, some insurance companies seem to think that even being in Nepal is risky.

If anyone is interested in seeing how I got on doing the Ultimate Bungy Jump and The Ultimate Swing in April this year, log on to You Tube and type in the search words "bungy" and "grandad".
Let us know what you think and if you fancy giving it a go next time you are in Nepal.
P.S. Yes, I know I look a little aprehensive (sh*t scared).

Wow, that takes guts (or something). Great jump and great video. Seeing the video was close enough for me. How do they get you back on the bridge? What hurts most after your done, your head or your ankles?

As you can see from the film, I kept in a horizontal freefall position for too long, so when the bungy cord started to break my fall, I was flung about quite violently and did hurt my neck by the whiplash effect. It probably did not help that I was about three times as old as the average jumper, and about 25kg heavier!
Whilst suspended upside down when you have finished bouncing up and down, a guy on the bank holds out a long bamboo pole for you to grab hold of and then pulls you into the bank, then there is a 20-25 min. climb to get back up to the bridge.

Wow!

From one grandad to another.

I don`t think so.

No way would I do one of these thrill seeking bounces. Instead you could try running around the Monkey Temple with a chocolate bar in your mouth or carry an open bag of crisps as you wander around looking at the monuments. Now that would be a thrill and taking a big risk. Yakshaver can explain the thrill of this

No thank you, I may be a grandad but I value my nuts too much to risk that!
