hi
i had planned a trip to napal in September with a friend who has now dropped ou but i still wish to go and although i am quite confident i have a few worries about going alone.
I have spent so long reading books about it and deciding what to do but still cannot come up with a plan of what really to do and not. I fly into Napal on Sept 9 th it would be really good to find other people to trek with but also ideas on where to go.
As it is hopefully coming to the end of the monsoon i would like advice on what clothes i would need ie what jackets needed and how thick a sleeping bag ect.
I sound as though i have no idea whta i am doing but realy i do but would appricaite help.
thankyou
pauline

You may be lucky with the rains but I would not bet on it,it should not be heavy HEAVY monsoon but the last few years it seems to go on till around the end of Sept.Where are you planning to go ? how long is your trip?.No problem alone but do not hitch on to the first Nepali guide you meet because you need reassurance.Get yourself into a hotel in Kathmandu best to take a fixed taxi from the airport and choose a hotel within your budget from the bible for the first night and see how it goes from there. This all sounds a bit clandestine Nepal is great but it is good to find your feet before major decisions.Take your time to adjust if you have it,a good guide/people make all the difference.

Have a good time if you need more help get back to me.

namaste Nick.

Hi Pauline,

I am arriving in Nepal on September 15, and leaving October 1. My orginal plans sort of fell apart, so I am also trying to figure out what to do next. I was hoping to trek around Pokhara for about a week, and also go to Chitwan. Have you figured out what you are doing?

Kari

Hi pauline,

I am arriving in Katmandu on Sep 16 and am wanting to meet up with others who are interested in doing a 7day trek from Pokhara to Jomson and fly back to Pokhara afterwards. I am also interested seeing Chitwan National Park for acouple of days..
If you are interested... My email address - kmeers_2000@yahoo.com.au

I am thinking I might hire a sleeping bag over there if I need it..
