Hi,

I will be travelling alone October early Nov (Annapurna circuit). Is it too late? Is it easy to find a guide on site or is it better to book it in advance? Is there an official place to have information about guides?
Is it safe to travel alone for a women?
Any idea about daily budget during trekk is welcome (lodging, meals and guide).

Thanks

Marianne

Namaste,
It is absolutly no problem to trek alone around annapurna as you will meet plenty people on the way. For the trek around the annapurnas you dont need a guide. But it may be very nice to have a porter. You can find easily one in Pokhara, ask for a porterguide in your Hotel ore ask other treckers. count for 8-10 $ a day. When you get him in your Hotel, bargain hard but give him later a big tip. (official 5 $ in front of the lodge owner, and 4 $ tip a day)In fact your porter will have to pay the difference between the nepali rate and what you offered for every day to the lodge owner. In the beginning, food and lodging are very cheap, about 10$ with low budget, but asoon that you pass 3000m altitude, everything ist getting more expensive. Count in average about 15-20 $ a day, but have some extra money with you. If you like to drink beer on the trek, ad some other 5$ a day. You can also have a look to some pictures in my webside www.nepal-dia.de Good luck andrées

Hi Marrianne

Just thought I should point out that if you are doing the Circuit 99% of people do it anti clockwise it is very hard to cross from the Muktinath side. This means you need to take the bus From Kathmandu to Dhumre then a local to Bhesi Sahar and not Pokhara which will be your end destination on trek.Best you find your porter in Kathmandu. If you are coming back via Ghandrung then why not stop off at my lodge for more info visit www.himalayastudy.co.uk

Hope this helps. Nick
