I am going to take the jomson trek in late October, early November. I would like some guidance:
1. Do we need treking permits for this trek.
2. About how cold does it get at night.
3. What rating sleeping bags do we need.
4. How hard is the climb to Ulleri

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

1. Do we need treking permits for this trek.

You do not need a trekking permit, but you need to pay some fee to the Annapurna Consevation who manages this area.

2. About how cold does it get at night.

Its pretty cold during oct. nov, but there are fairly good hotels
considering the remoteness..so u dont need to worry.

3. What rating sleeping bags do we need.
4. How hard is the climb to Ulleri

I am not sure..but you can easily get these informations in Tourist Information Center in Kathmandu or with any travel agency that deals with trekking in kathmandu.

Hi Fred.

Bit Nippy at Muktinath but otherwise not too bad.At present the fee for the area is 2000. 20 approx. You can obtain this either in Kathmandu or Pokhara before you start your trek, otherwise they double the cost.4 season recommended.Ulleri really is a breather on the way to Ghorapani 3000 fairly big steps but no real altitude.Have a good trek.It is also worth remembering the Nepali government often change all these rules/payments etc every time there is a new one which they have just done so keep checking.
