Hi,
Do you have any info about rates of porters per day in September - October, for A.B.C trek?
Please supply info about hiring porters through a company, and also independently.
Thanks
Danny

Namaste Danny

If you are planning on doing the Circuit yo are probably looking at 20 days at a not too pressured pace.Porters like us vary as people,I suggest you find someone who speaks English as his personal experience is as much invalueable as the load he carries for you and this will enhance your experience. It is important he has the right kit (and you)i.e. proper cloathing for Thorang La(5,400mtrs) sun glasses (for snow blindness)and decent footwear.Whichever way you choose how you find him these questions should be paramount and you should check before you trek that all is in order.A good porter guide is anywhere between $10 and $15, on that basis he would pay for his food.Of course it is easy to exploit and pay a lot less and find a human donkey who through his circumstances will work for peanuts although I am not sure if donkeys like peanuts. If you want help with a good porter guide and I promise I am just the bridge between, we can try and sort something out for you.

Regards Nick.
