Hi there
I'm going to Nepal in February and I'd like to know whether I can buy all needed equipment in Kathmandu, and more importently, is price reasonable?
Thanks

You can buy about anything you want in Kathmandu, but in most of the shops the quality varies from good to total rubbish and unless you can see the different you may be buying North Fake or other look-alikes with good brand names but lousy quality. There are also shops that sell used expedition equipment and that may be your best bet if you do not wnat your shoes to fall apart halfway up a mountain.

Jonis,
I recommend you buy a nice original trekking boot from any where other than Nepal. I had a Merrell boot on my last trekking, and they are very comfortable. It is a good idea to pay some more money fora boot but it will pay you back.
Good luck
