Could some one please help!!

IS THIS DOABLE??
We plan a mini trek (3 days). Firstly, am 35 & a first time trekker. Not a couch potato, but not any kind athlete either;)
Day 1: Bus to Beni.Trek to Tatopani (5hrs? ). Overnight in Tatopani.
Day 2: Trek Tatopani to Ghorepani (7 hrs?). Overnight in Ghorepani
Day 3: Ghorepani to Poon Hill for Sunrise (50 mins). Back to Ghorepani, check out and
down to Naya Pul (6 hours?) . Bus from Naya P. to Pokhara. Tuff day!!!

Any advises? By the way day 1 is 31 Dec. 2006. So must consider the snow at Ghorepani as well.
Thanks guys/Styx.

Ps- Can my wife and I do this on our own or is a guide recommended?

I believe it is doable. But I would add another day and do the the Naya Pul/Birethanti - Ghandruk - Tadapani (I believe...) - Ghorepani/Poon Hill - Naya Pul itinerary.

Ghandruk is an beautiful Gurung village (which Beni or Tatopani are not quite), especially the old part of Ghandruk, away from the main trail.
This would combine the views with the culture.

You can do both of these (beni and ghandruk versions) without a guide. I would recommend a guide, as it is your first time in Nepal. Also, if you stick to the Beni part, there have been a few robberies happening over the years, though I have heard of none in the last 3-4 years. They always happened to trekkers who trekked on their own, so it might not be a problem anyway, for you.

If you want a good guide recommendation, please send me a private message.

Styx, yes, that's fine but you won't have much time to relax & enjoy! Tatopani to Ghorepani ist is very tough and at least 7 hours if not 8 + lunch. It goes up and up and up! So leave early and get there late! Ghorepani to Naya Pul + bus Pokhara. I did that last year and it was a long long day and we only got to Pokhara at around 8 or 9 at night. If you can ad one or even two more days do it! It's worthi it! by the way, plan on some Mao donations!
