Annapurna Circuit, Sept 20 to Oct 9

Looking for trekking companions for Annapurna Circuit. Planning to start from Besi Sahar on Sept 23rd. I am 35, female.

For the moment I am still looking for companions only. I am aware of the fact that I may not find a companion and end up trekking with a guide, which wouldn't be so bad as I like Nepali people and their companionship. Below, I wrote a few sentences from Jon Krauker, just to give you an idea about why I am looking for trekking companions but not guides for the moment. Of course I am not a climber, and AC is nowhere near as dangerous as climbing a mountain. Still the essence of this paragraph tells how I feel when I go to mountains.

"...I'd found that most rewarding aspects of mountaineering derive from the sport's emphasis on self reliance, on making critical decisions and dealing with the consequences, on personal responsibility. When you sign on as a client, I discovered, you are forced to give up all of that, and more. For safety's sake, a responsible guide will always insist on calling the shots-he or she simply can't afford to let each client make important decisions independently.............I felt at times I wasn't really climbing the mountain--that surrogates were doing it for me..."

Niyatri responds on here only to lone female trekkers looking for trail companions. Have a look through his old posts, you can see that is almost exclusively what he does. He may even be a guide, it is hard to tell. But it is a little odd that he only seeks out solo female western trekkers for companionship. Thought you ought to know.

i was wondering if your starting date is a fixed one? Cause me (44) and my wife (32) will start on the 10th of september and are also looking for a companion to hike through the mountains AC. I already put a message on this board. We are from holland and we'll arrive in Kathmandu on the 5th. So if your time schedule is flexible and you like to join us, just give us a response.
We'll have to be back in Kathmandu on the 1st of october to start working for INFO Nepal.
