The weather will be pretty similar in both areas. You might catch the tail end of the monsoon at that time of year if it is late ending so expect some showers.

The ABC trek starts lower down than EBC if you fly to Lukla. So the ABC trek is alot warmer to start with. The EBC trek goes higher (5000m+) so will be colder at higher elevations than ABC.

There are loads of lodges and teahouses in both areas, you won't have any trouble finding accomodation and food in either place.

Good luck

Really the only tough spots are Tengboche- stay in Debouche instead and walk into Tengboche. Lobouche is tough, usually your guide will leave early and you come with your porter. Sometimes with another guide and his client while one guide goes ahead to get rooms for both groups.

We trek late Oct-early Nov at the EBC and ha no problems with lodges. But... some placeshas less lodges then others:

Tengboche
Duglha
Lobuche
Gorak Shep
Dzonglha

Those are the most expensive places where I find the costs for food and bed to be outrageous. The rest, there are plenty lodges for everyboby and almost every budget.

Duglha and Dzongla has only two small lodges, so if you plan to stay there to better acclimatizate or break the Cho la cross, better hury and get there before the organized/guided groups sherpas.

Tengboche as a few big lodges, but are too expensive. I would prefer to sleep at Pangboche, just a couple of hours ahead, where there are more lodges and cheaper.

Lobuche has a few lodges, inclusive a new "fancy" one. All expensive, but I think there is no need to run in order to get a room.

Gorak Shep has three monstruous lodges. I think there are plenty rooms vor everybody. Also, a bit bitter expensive.

Gokyo village has many lodges, for all budgets and they all look fine. Great place.

Concerning the wheter... well, nowadays is dificulto to forecast what conditions will be find. Las year we get some rain at Namche and lots of fog aroud 14h till pretty much the end of the trek.

Oh, yes... at the EBC trek, most lodge´s rooms has wood walls, so can get pretty cold after sunset. Bring some good sleeping-bag and some warm clothes.

I doubt you'd have problems with finding lodge stay on either EBC or ABC. I would not worry about that.

Follow Hendrik's advice and get warm clothing, as well as good sun glasses, some warm head beanie. It gets quite cold at night at above 3500m altitude no matter where you go in the Himalaya.

I love the views and atmosphere at ABC. But whatever trek you do, it would be great, provided you don't rush things, and are not too obsessive.
