Hi,
I'm planning to go to Nepal around June to trek. I really don't want to do trekking through an organized tourist office. Rather, I want to hire a guide and/or a porter and just go for a off-the-beaten paths for 20-30 days. Any route suggestion?
Thanks.

There are areas other than the usual independent trekking routes like Annapurna and Everest, however if your thinking of anything more than a few days you will be restricted to what you and your porter can carry. There are a few routes of the 'Everest trek' that are interesting, but there are no tea houses and you would either have to camp or stay with locals.
Perhaps you could go to the Everest region and then walk out via Tumblingtar. This is a very interesting option. There are porters tea houses all the way so you can do it without carrying food etc. Just don't expect beer and apple pie. It's definately a Dal Baht trek!! Tqkes about 7 days, more if you visit some of the accesible peaks along the way.
You will meet Maoists around Tumblingtar almost certainly.
Most of the high altitude trekking areas require permits, guide - porters etc, so you would mainly be limited to the lower areas
