Hi,
In November 2005 i did the Jomsom trek with my guide Bikram. He is a very nice companion and knows a lot about the environment and villages along the way. So if you need a good guide i can recommend him. His email is: thapabikram@hotmail.com

My husband and me, we traveled to Nepal last autumn. We trusted an internet recommendation and chose Sherpa Paseng Dendi trekking company while still at home in Luxembourg. We were so pleasantly surprised upon arrival in Kathmandu as Dendi Pasang had succesfully organised everything starting from airport pickup, city tour, friendship dinner, hotel arrangement, plane tickets to Lukla etc. Our trekking guides for the 2 week trekking tour into Khumbu Everest region was Furwa Lama we could not have wished better companions for that! Apart from ensuring smooth functioning (incl. carefully chosen lodges and menus) of the planned trekking, these guys really cared about our wellbeing (in all respects) during the trip. Being very much interested in the non-apparent aspects of their culture and religion we greatly appreciated that these young men were able to tell us so much about their ways of living as well as the Himalayan flora and fauna. In our opinion, for the paid price we got an excellent service plus some real friends in Nepal. We sincerely wish them best of luck in their trekking business!

We can recommend their services to anyone, for more detailed information we can be reached at cthein@internet.lu or phone +(352) 348891. Kristine and Christian Thein from Luxembourg

Looking for a good trekking guide for Annapurna Circuit?
We have just returned from a successful completion of the Annapurna Circuit trek accompanied by our guide “Him Raj Adhikari”. Before setting out on trek we had visited many of the trekking agencies in Pokhera, receiving conflicting advice on our guide / porter requirements. For the two of us with only one rucksack between us and a couple of day sacs we were advised we needed anything from one guide to one guide and two porters at an incredible variance in prices. Our own advice to others would be to call in on the Amrit Guest House in Lakeside. They have excellent rooms in a garden setting right in the centre opposite the bank and introduced us to “Him” (we called him Maya) we talked at length about our forthcoming trek over breakfast. His knowledge of the trek was comprehensive and he knew well and was able to guide in all the trekking areas around Pokhera. He will arrange porters also if your group requires them.
We were guided for over 16 days at a very comfortable pace and at the same time he knew when you wanted your own space to either socialize or explore the villages.
We are pleased to pass on his details to others looking for a good guide. You can contact him at tanka1881@hotmail.com or probably quicker by contacting the Amrit Guest House in Pokhera direct.

Have a good trek.
