Calcutta-Kathmandu

Hello!
Anybody has any information about getting to Kathmandu from Calcutta through land? How long journey it takes, are the borders open, how are the roads?

Yetizone folks has provided me with some information when i was researching for this oveland trip. But due to time constraint, I have no choice but to abort this plan.

You can catch an afternoon train (abt 2pm) from Howrah train station in Kolkata and arrive in Raxual at abt 8am in the morning. From Raxual, take a taxi to India/Nepal border. After clearing both custom, you will have to take another bus to kathmandu. It takes approximately another 6-7 hours for the bus ride arriving Kathmandu in the late afternoon.

Thanks for replying. I am definitely going to do this trip, right now it sounds like it's possible. I'm going to be conquering Kathmandu in between of April. I will tell you how it went after I reached the Capital.
I hope the border will be open and busses running.
