I have heard that avalanche frequently occur in the ABC trek during April. Is it advisable to do the ABC trek in April? Is that a detour in the path that avalanche can be avoid?

There are a number of discussions on this subject, and a search might be useful.
In essence, my perspective is that yes you can trek in April no problem. However, you need to take certain precautions, as March and April (but March especially) have been periods in which people have died in avalaches below Hiunchuli, on the stretch between Hinku Cave and Deoraly, a stretch less than an hour long, if I remember correctly. More broadly speaking, the trekking day between Himalaya Lodge (or Dovan if you like) and Machapuchare BC.
Here are some of the precautions you can take:
a) have a good guide who knows the area, and understands the weather. He/She may be able to take you on the alternative longer trail accross the Modi Khola
b) talk to the locals, say the lodge owners, the evening before. Talk to other guides at the lodge.
c) leave very early from Dovan or Himalaya lodge, before the morning warmth sets in, wich can unsettle the snows on Hiunchuli
Of course the main danger exists where there's a lot of fresh snow on Hiunchuli. If this is coupled with warmer weather then you can expect some dumps on the trail. That's way a good guide, talking to the locals, leaving early - or not leaving at all for the day, putting the crossing off for the following day - all this is important.
I would talk all the precautions, but would not be unduly worried. Yes, tragedies have happened there, but the great majority of people pass by without misshap.
ABC is an amazing trek.
