Hi,

I'll be doing the Annapurna Circuit in mid November. Instead of taking my 65 liter backpack I thought about bringing my 35 l backpack to carry myself and a duffel bag to give to the porter. Is that cool? Porters prefere a duffel rather than a backpack, correct?

Also, anyone interested in cruising Kathmandu (walk, bike ....) or even do a 1 day trip/hike close by between November 10 - 13? Let me know, OK?

Thanks,

ps: how cold does it really get up high (inside the lodge)? Like around freezing or more like -10 C?

Yep, it's kool... 25-35 litre day pack is quite enogh for a jacket, bottle of water etc. The porter will carry the with a tumpline, so wheter is a duffel or a back pack will not matter. Althoughthe dufel is cheaper and you don't feel sorry if it gets dirty and damaged (which it most probably will). I have seen porter carrying backpacks "normally" as well.
