Hi!

Can someone pl guide me on the Jomsom- LoManthang trek?
I have done the Annapurna Circuit and the ABC in 2001. Never ended up going north of Jomsom. Would like to trek from Jomsom to Lo Manthang in upper Mustang and back starting 4 days from now. Is it possible to do this is Teahouse trekking style? Thats what I did last time. I don't mind hiring a porter, infact would prefer it. But have no plans to carry food and tents. Pl help.
Being an Indian, I believe I will be exempt from the US$700-00 fees.

If no one has an answer, may I request Yakshaver to help?

Thaks
Peace!

Sumeet

The idea that I may know everything about trekking in Nepal is false... Sorry to dissapoint you. For example I have never trekked to Lo... However I am pretty sure the stupidity of needing a liaison officer has been abandoned last year. In regards to the USD 700 plus trekkig fee, and the necessity to go with a registered guide/trekking agency, I am not sure about these rules...

I know you have to camp in tents for most of the trek. The Lonely Planet Trekking in the Nepal Himalaya guide says as much quite clearly.

However I have posted the othre questions on another site (yetizone.com) where there are some wise ol' no lifers in residence, who really know everything...
Hopefully you'll get your answere in a short time...
