Can anyone share there experiences on getting either a tourist visa or transit visa for India at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu? How much did it cost? How long did it take at the Embassy and how long did it take to get the tourist visa after that? I presume that they take your passport from your for 5-7 days to get the tourist visa. What exactly are the qualifications for a Transit Visa? I here they are a lot cheaper then a tourist visa and you can get them same day. I'll only be staying in India for 6 days and will be flying in and out of Delhi. However I'll be sightseeing the Golden Triangle. With a transit visa I think they want you to stay in the same city the whole time and not be a tourist, but how will they know if you travel to a couple extra cities and snap some pictures?

Thanks for your help,
Jason
