Established in Nepali year 2060 (2003), Changa Chait is organized and held at Club Himalaya, Nagarkot. The event and concept was the brainchild of Mr. Yogendra Sakya, chairman of Ace Hotels & Resorts. The last Changa Chait held in 2064 (2007) drew in 2,000-3,000 visitors per day, over 10,000 visitors over a span of 3 days and over 40 corporate houses(banks, industries, travel agents & many more) participated in this fun Kite Flying competition. The event also hosts food stalls, games, and other fun activities for non participants.
We are happy to announce that this year we have taken the initiative to bring back the event by popular demand. This year Changa Chait will be held on
Program Date:
Preliminary round: 28th September 2011 (11th Ashwin, 2068)
Final day: 1st Oct 2011 (14th Ashwin, 2068)
The objective of the program is:
1) To revive/ promote and carry on the age old tradition of flying kites during Dashain
2) To foster good relations between corporate houses through this traditional sport.
3) To usher in the spirit of Dashain
3) To develop Nagarkot as a destination for kite lovers.
In the previous years, Changa Chait has helped people network, build new relationships, foster team spirit among
colleagues, and most of all have a really great time, while bringing back the age old tradition of kite flying.
