Apa Sherpa summits Everest 15 times

KATHMANDU, June 1 - Apa Sherpa Tuesday summitted Mt Everest for 15 times by breaking his own earlier record of maximum ascents.
Sherpa set foot atop the 8,848 meter peak at 6:30 yesterday morning, according to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The Ministry released a figure, which said that 25 mountaineers of seven expedition teams also summitted the Mt Everest on Tuesday, of which 12 were Nepalese, four Australians, three Americans, three Japanese, two South Koreans and a British.
With this the number of mountaineers reaching atop Mt Everest this spring season has reached 73.
Over 1,500 mountaineers have so far scaled the Mt Everest from Nepali side.
