Looking for other trekkers to share expenses (special permit/govt liason officer etc) for 14 day trek into Upper Mustang. I will be leaving the group at Kag beni on the way down.
If anyone is interested in continuing on, you can do the AC backwards down into Manang or continue down to Jomsom. I don't recommend walking through the lower regions because of the Maoist insurgency, but everyone has to decide what risk is acceptable.
I'll be heading over the Thorung La into Manang on horseback (the way I usually go in), visiting friends and staying with families in each of the villages there for 7-10 days, then heading over the Kang la behind Ngwal into Nar Khola and up to Phu gaon back down to Koto/chame. Most likely will fly out of Manang--have been on the AC trail many, many times during the monsoon, but not interested in crossing Maoist turf these days.
Female Ph.D anthropologist/writer. Have been visiting Nepal since 1972. Trekking companions- must be culturally sensitive. English/French bilingual.
