British and French ambassadors to Nepal have said Nepal’s tourist destinations are safe and peaceful for tourists.

Sharing their delightful experiences, with Nepali and foreign media at the Nepal Tourism Board on Monday, of a recent trek to Manang (Annapurna region) and Khumbu (Everest region) areas respectively, the envoys said , “No tourists have to fear for their security in those areas.”

In the program, the French Ambassador to Nepal -Michele Jolivet- recalled his unique experience during his trekking to Everest Region and praised the untouched beauty in the region and its people. “I did not face any hassles during the trek. If French Ambassador can trek to Everest Region, everybody can, ” he added.

Envoy Jolivet trekked through Goyoko Lake and surrounding areas, choosing the less travelled routes by trekkers because of difficult terrain and snow.

Earlier the British Envoy to Nepal, Keith Broomfield, talked about his 10-day trekking experience of Nar and Phu villages of Manang district and said he cherished every moment of the trek as a lifetime experience. On security situation in the area, he said, “I did not face any security problems throughout the trek.”

The British Envoy, moreover, encouraged trekkers to explore the exotic areas. The two villages- Nar and Phu – are situated on the fringe of Nepal-Tibet (China) border. nepalnews.com pd May 17 05
