Hi
What sort of temperatures is it likely to be on the Annapurna Sanctuary at this time of the year. I'm going in a few days and need to get my gear sorted. Also, post a reply here if anyone is interested in joining me for it. I'm a 23 year old Irish guy and will be leaving for Pokara tomorrow.
Cheers.

Weather at ABC can be different every year. But trekkers had mentioned that there have been a lot of snow this year. Some years ago, I had at the End of april about 3-4 m of snow up there and it was pretty cold. (-15 in the morning)
I would take a down jacket with you ( you can rent it for some rupies a day in Pokhara), it will be very cosy up there and you will enjoy more the great sunrise.
April is on of the most avalanche prone seasons, have a look at my website how to minimise the risk and have a great trek.
Greetings Andrées

And it's been snowing all weekend, so conditions should be risky for avalanches.

Hello
I've just got back from ABC and it was awsome! It was very cold at night, I slept in 3 layers of clothing and in my hat and gloves at MBC. Take a down jacket if possible but you will survive in lots of layers and a warm coat. During my walk up to ABC at 4.30am I wore a thermal vest, a thin fleece and a warm coat it also gets quite warm when the sun rises. There had been a snow storm a few days before, which had cleared the skies and with all the fresh snow it was truely amazing!!! My guide told me that there is a danger of avalanches in certain areas but this is avoidable by trekking through these areas QUICKLY during the morning (as by the afternoon the snow may melt and trigger an avalanche). You are about to have an experience of a life time!!!

Wow, thanks to all of you for the information.. Wasn't expecting it to be quite that cold but now at least I'll be prepared. Thanks andrees for the great avalanche advice! The trek sounds fantastic and I can't wait.
