We are planning a 10 day base camp trek about mid July, is this possible or does weather not allow it?
Also do we have to fly to Lukla ex Kathmandu or do buses run?
Cheers everyone
(Did Annapurna Circuit 2 years ago can't wait to get back, loved it!!!!!)

I am not sure if you got a reply for this. Of course this message should be on the other forum not the Safety... But since it's not advertising...
First, if you want to do Lukla EBC return in 10 days you need to fly to Lukla. Walking in from Jiri will add another 5-6 days. Secondly 10 days is too short a time, and you're couring altitude sickness or simply being too tired to enjoy the trek. I have to say here that even if you don't get AMS, if you go up to fast you will be very tired no matter how fit you are. Fit people still need to acclimatise, and and there is no relationship between your level of fitness and chances of getting altitude sickness. In fact fitter people who are tempted to go up faster simply because their fittness allows them, can be at greater risk for getting AMS.

yes you will need to fly and you are going out of season!! you might have problems with the weather! and your time is perhaps a little too short?
