After the epic Manaslu/Tsum in November last year, I went o a short ABC trek, with a detour to the hot springs of Jinhu Danda - accompanied by the inimitable Greg M from Brisbane in sunny Queensland, and young Paul H from Dunedin in Kiwiland. We were in the excellent company of Santa's nephew Rame as guide and Shera as our porter - who looked after us and kept us entertained. Santaman again organised all the stuff very well for us. It must be the 12th time I trekked with his crew; had no stress, and a great time as usual.
Unlike Manaslu/Tsum, where we had a crew of over 20 (including cooks etc) looking after us, this was a quiet affair, with a guide and a porter for three trourists.
As mentioned, while Santa keeps his prices very competitive, he puts aside 1/10 of his profits for the construction of a school up the valley where he lives, near the remote and disadvantaged village (Kaaule in the Langtang region). Kinda like paying tithe, for all the religious people out there...
I recommend Santa, and his young and enthusiastic crew. Shera is an excellent cook, by the way.
