Hi all
I will go on a trek in the Upper Mustang area leaving Kathmandu around September 1st. Mustang is not affected by the monsoon in September.
A special permit (which costs 500 US dollars for 10 days in the area) is needed and can only be obtained when going with a guide and for a minimum of two participants. The trek can be done as a tea house trek (min. 2 persons) or as a camping trek (min. 4 persons to make it affordable). I'm looking for one or more reasonably fit persons who are interested to join.
As so far we are only two, me and a Nepali and as we need to be at least 2 foreigners to obtain the permit, you can also just join for the permit without taking the package.
Duration is 14 days, starting from Kathmandu, then by bus to Pokhara, flight to Jomson, after trek back to Pokhara (flight from Jomson) and again by bus to Kathmandu. There are alternatives to the flight for the way back to Pokhara.
I know a very reliable local agency and its guide who will go with us for a reasonable price: 1240 euros per person, all-in except drinks, tips and personal insurance. The price for tea house and camping trek is the same, provided there are 4 participants for the camping trek.
Hope to hear from you if you need more info on company, guide, programme...
