Hi..
I would like to place a recommendation here on behalf of The Trekkers Society, Thamel.
I've recently returned from Nepal having completed the EBC / Kala Patar trek. I travelled with one friend and we used the guiding services of The Trekkers Society located in Thamel, Kathmandu.
We sourced them via the internet prior to leaving the UK and kept in close contact (as and when it was possible) during the months before our departure (we trekked end Feb to Mid March).
The service we received was excellent in all departments, from the logistical / administrative side of things to the all important quality of the trekking guide. Our guide had many years experience and spoke excellent English. He was well acquainted with many of the lodge owners on a personal / friendship basis which made our our "teahouse" experience all the more real. His local knowledge proved invaluable, particularly as he often was able to lead us to more breathtaking viewpoints often just a short walk from the main trail.
I would recommend (and use again myself) The Trekkers Society for all of the above reasons. Nothing was too much trouble and their whole focus was on being flexibile to accomodate OUR requirements.
Jeet Basnet is the Manager and their e mail address is
info@destinationnepal.com
For any further info or references, feel free to mail me directly. :)
I should also say, they were very reasonably priced too !
Good luck and enjoy !
