EBC in April?

Hello.
I will be hiking the EBC trek in early to mid April and was woundering if anybody who reads this has done it at this time of year.Any info on what to bring would be much appreciated,also where to rent items like sleeping bag ect.I will be entering KTD alone looking for people to hike with, is it usually easy to find people.Also is it safe and what is an average cost to budget for.So helpfull thanks.
