Sorry Aussies! Your players tried but never really had a chance. You have to
hand it to the Germans though, they sure played well all over the field. Best
match so far.

That referee was really hard on Cahill!

Summed up well: the Germans were tops - good on them. The Aussies where nowhere. The referee was crap. Let us now hope that New Zealand beats Italy.

Well... if Italy decides to play like Slovakia, then New Zealand might have a chance. Though the Italians hardly play two bad games in a row. And they did it against Paraguay.

A chance in hell but still a chance.
On a good day we have a fairly good team by international standard, ...otherwise we get beaten.
Still not the best game against Slovakia, looked a little out-classed there for a long while.

I also fear for NZ against Paraguay. Paraguay have been by far the best team in this group. Italy were very lucky to draw with them in the first game. But, hey, hope springs eternal, and we've already seen miracles. Should NZ lose 4-0 to Paraguay, I guess people will not be too disappointed. But I hope they get a good result and qualify!

Agree of course. They look pretty good and we don't handle South American teams very well. Also relies on the other Group F game.

Well done Australia! Classy display against a desperate and skillful Serbia. Not enough to qualify (zouse Germans...!) but what goals from Cahill and Holman!!

Also the USA is doing very well, with Dempsey and Donovan at the height of their game. Whoever plays them next (Ghana I think...) will underestimate them at their peril.

Go the Kiwis!!
