I lurked around this wonderful board last year before our first trek. Thought i better join and make it official.

We did a 25 day Jiri - Gokyo - EBC trek last April. Like so many others we fell in love with the country and the people. Now planning to go to Annapurna area this April.

Looking forward to getting to know you :)

Hi there!

I strongly suggest you consider going to NarPhu during your Annapurna trip. Reasons: there is a road all the way to Muktinath on the Kali Kandaki side which more or less ruins the atmosphere there. There is also ugly roadworks on the Marsyangdi side of the trek, almost to Chame.

NarPhu was opend only recently and only a limited number of tourists are allowed there any time. The place is quite amazing.

The negative thing is that it has to be arranged as a camping trek (it would be possible also to rough it with just a guide) and it seems that a liason officer will be compulsory again (then it might not be possible to rough it).

We paid 1420 euros each for a 30 day Manaslu circuit - NarPhu - Tilicho lake -Marpha trek last may (7 pax) which comes to 47€/day. Not bad for an all inclusive deal. If you want an agency contact, PM me.
