View Full Version : everest region in march and april 2010

18th January 2010, 12:20 PM

i am interested in the "three passes" trek in the everest region.
this means in brief version:
lukla - renjo la (pass; 5345m) - cho la (pass; 5420m) - kongma la (pass; 5535m) - lukla.
this takes around 20 days and is also possible the other way round.
i would consider to trek to lukla from shivalaya beforehand (6 days), to be better acclimatised and to enjoy the old way to everest.
therefore i am searching for an experienced trekking compagnion.
i am free the whole march and april 2010 and very flexible in time and the way,
so if you are interested please write.

i changed my mind and i think it's better to do the circuit anticlockwise, so here are more details. but don't take this too serious, i always want to stay flexible and if we are tired one day we can have a short walk!
i would like to start in early march.

shivalaya (or jiri) to lukla (in 6 days), then

day 7: lukla to phakding
day 8: pakding to namche bazaar
day 9: rest day
day 10: namche bazaar to tengboche
day 11: rest day
day 12: tengboche to dingboche
day 13: dingboche to chhukung
day 14: rest day
day 15: chhukung to lobuche (crossing kongma la 5535m)
day 16: lobuche to gorak shep (optional with everest base camp)
day 17: gorak shep to lobuche (climbing kala pattar 5545m)
day 18: lobuche to dzonglha
day 19: dzonglha to gokyo (crossing cho la 5420m)
day 20: rest day
day 21: rest day
day 22: gokyo to lungden (crossing renjo la 5345m)
day 23: lungden to thame
day 24: thame to namche bazaar
day 25: namche bazaar to phakding
day 26: phakding to lukla

i'm really looking forward to the trek, so if your interested just write!

I am pretty flexible with time, would like to head off to some of the side trails occasionally. No portor or guide except for areas that require or is more efficient. Tea house accomidation--(budget-med)
I am Canadian, 34--female. Good health/ endurance.
