Hi all,
I am planning a trek in the Mustang area in September 2010, leaving around 4th from Kathmandu (flexible date). Mustang http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustang_(kingdom), an old kingdom with Tibetan cuture, is situated between Annapurna and Tibet and is not affected by the monsoon in September.

A special permit (which costs 500 US dollars for 10 days in the area) is needed and can only be obtained when going with a guide and for a minimum of two participants. The trek can be done as a teahouse trek (min. 2 persons) or as a camping trek (min. 4 persons). The latter option seems a lot more interesting to me as accomodation is very limited, so camping gives a lot more freedom. Therefore I'm looking for at least one (or for camping trek at least 3) reasonably fit persons who are interested to join.

Duration is 12 days, starting from Kathmandu (flight to Jomson) and back to Pokhara (flight from Jomson). There are alternatives for the flight back from Jomson to Pokhara.

I know a very reliable local agency and guide offering a very reasonable price: 1240 euros per person, all-inclusive except drinks, tips and personal insurance. The price for teahouse and camping trek is the same, provided there are 4 participants for the camping trek.

For any information, please contact here or pm me for more detailed information

Went last year, same time - you'll love it! Just one point re: teahouse vs camping. We trekked in parallel with several camping groups and generally ended up in the same places each night; the camping groups usually pitch tents in the grounds of teahouses for access to cooking/eating facilities. So not sure how much additional flexibility you'll have with camping, really.
