Whats happened to Nepal?Everywhere I went trekking I was treated like an ATM machine.As if I would not mind paying 1000 NPR for a plate of rice and lentils!Why the same meal would cost less than 50 away from the tourist traps of AC and EBC etc. Sadly it seems the rich tourists do not mind being cheated by the equally rich lodge owners.And by the way these exorbitant prices do not mean the local economy benefits.Just the Greedy lodge owners get richer and the budget trekkers get well shafted.This double pricing 3 times at least for foreigners is blatant discrimination and i laugh to see the ignorant tourists happily throwing their money away ...at least until i am forced to do the same.I am all for helping the locals but with this attitude they are going to lose a lot of business as well as any reputation for integrity they may have had.
